The Tell: Love
For months my husband Kris has been raving about The Tell storytelling event. Sure, I believed him when he said it was awesome - I mean he's usually right about these sorts of things. But it wasn't until last night when I attended the my first event that I actually knew how awesome it could be. Seriously. Awesome.
Similar to The Moth with a competitive twist, The Tell is a juried story slam. During each event (held monthly at Studio 222 in downtown Fargo) ten willing participants are picked randomly out of a hat and have about five minutes to tell a story around a theme. This month? Love. Last night we heard stories ranging from a snake masacre, a wild taxi ride, the worst prom date ever and the moment a pastor fell in love with Fargo.
Kudos go to Laura Egland and her team who has brilliantly put this event together. I'm now officially hooked and can't wait to attend in March.
